USA Today’s Top 10 Tiki Bars

USA Today’s travel writer Kelly DiNardo asked Tiki Road Trip author James Teitelbaum to divulge his Top 10 list of North American tiki bars. Among the usual suspects like the Mai Kai in Ft. Lauderdale and Forbidden Island in Almedia, CA, there were a couple of surprises: Jardin Tiki in Montreal and Kowloon in Saugus, Mass (which I didn’t know existed).

  • Great to see the written up in something like USA Today. After reading Tiki Style by Sven A. Kirsten, it was a bit depressing to see how many great places from that era have vanished. At the same time, it's great to see some survived and that their is a resurgence.
