Trader Vic’s in Bellevue, Washington closed

Trader Vic\'s Bellevue, Washington closedThe ax fell on yet another Trader Vic’s location on August 23rd, 2008, when the restaurant at Lincoln Square in Bellevue, Washington, shut its doors.

My wife and I actually visited this location in August of 2006 and had a wonderful time and delicious food & cocktails; in 2007 the restaurant won an AOL’s Seattle CityGuide award for “Best Cocktail,” but reports from late in 2008 indicated less-than-stellar service and so-so food. According to The Seattle Times, the location just wasn’t profitable. The restaurant opened on March 6, 2006.

  1. You know, I really wonder if all of these Trader Vic’s closings have anything to do with the “Trader Vic’s Mai-Tai Bar franchises they’re marketing now. Perhaps they want to close the larger, more expensive locations and stick to these?

Either way, I’m not happy. Chicago has been Trader Vic’s-less for too long!

  2. I liked Trader Vic’s in Bellevue a lot and was there fairly regularly. Towards the end, the quality did suffer, but in the end it was the location that killed it. ‘Pearl’ will be opening in it’s place and I give it two years max. Location, location, location.
