Bad news for tiki lovers in the Lone Star state: last week a pipe burst outside the freshly-reopened Trader Vic’s in Dallas, doing damage to the property.
According to an announcement on the restaurant’s website, the facility is going to take the opportunity to not only fix the damage but also make some other improvements at the same time. There’s been no word on how extensive the damage was, or what the improvements might be, which has some fans of the restaurant worried. Chef Michael Owens has committed to updating both the restaurant’s news section and their Facebook page with updates as the process unfolds. The closure is slated to last two weeks.
UPDATE: According to the Facebook page, the restaurant is closed for good, as the cost on renovation post-pipe burst was too high to keep them in business. Any non-redeemed gift cards from the location will be accepted by the restaurant that is taking over that space.
