Pixar, the animation company that has somehow manages to consistently out-Disney Disney, apparently has animators and designers that are big tiki fans, as I keep seeing subtle and not-so-subtle references in their films and DVDs.
Now, the fever is apparently spreading to the marketing department. The new promotional website for their release of Renderman for Mac OS X features a screenshot of the OS X version of Maya lighting and texturing the three tiki heads from Dr. Sherman’s fish tank in Finding Nemo. Ooo ha ha!
