Tiki Caliente 2008 posterOn May 9–11, 2008, Wildsville Man and M Modern will be hosting the first ever Tiki Caliente at the Caliente Tropics in beautiful Palm Springs, California.

Activities begin Friday night with a Luau at Hawaiian Bills and on Saturday and Sunday vendors will be selling their goods.

Vendors include: Derek Yaniger, Doug Horne, Happy Chi Jewelry, Tiki Magazine, Dirk Yates, M Modern, Hawaiian Bills. The promoters promise that more artists will be announced soon.

Tahiti BluesStéphane is an architect, author, and illustrator who spent two years in Tahiti and was so taken with the culture he began drawing, painting, and photographing everything possible. His blog, Tahiti Blues, is a collection of stories and the works he created while on the island.

While the site is entirely in French, it’s fascinating none the less.

Disneyland Enchanted Tiki Room 45th Anniversary merchandise revealed

Tiki Room 45th Anniversary printOh boy! Disneyland has announced that they will have a special event on June 22nd celebrating the 45th Anniversary of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland in California, and they’ve contracted a number of excellent artists to create works for sale.

Artists include Amanda Visell, Kevin Kidney & Jody Daily, Maggie Parr, Larry Nikolai, Jim Crouch, Michelle Valigura, George Scribner, and Dave Avanzino. Images are beginning to trickle in on the website — there’s a lot of things listed but not shown, including new tiki mugs!
